How many meetings are you in where people leave with a different set of notes, or perhaps worse timelines and even worse, "who is supposed to do what?" It happens every day and the best tip we have, that has 6 years of praise by our clients, is The WHO, WHAT, WHEN!
So many things are discussed that it is often easy to lose track. Remember the old saying A man who wears one watch always knows what time it is; a man who wears two watches is never sure? The same is true for the to-do list after a meeting, when everyone is taking notes. So have a person who takes great notes do a Who, What, When, that details (obviously), Who is doing What by When AND has it been Completed? At the end of the meeting make copies of the sheet for everyone in the meeting as well as those who weren't in the meeting, but whose name appears on the list. People focus on their name, but can see other people's accountability to the team! Remember, in sales, likability is Salt and Pepper. Dependability, though, has a 320% greater importance than likability. Download whowhatwhencompleted.pdf to help you along the way.
